چکیده

IMO MARPOL Annex VI regulation has been set for global application to reduce the negative consequences of ship gas emissions SOx, NOx, and CO2. To enforce the regulation, real time gas emission monitoring system is in need. The system in this paper consists of a microcontroller, gas analyzers, sensors and Xbee radio module. The data acquired from the sensors and gas analyzer is transmitted using a microcontroller over the Xbee module to the receiver Xbee module on the main microcontroller for real-time compliance check. Real time monitoring system expedites the checks by officials in enforcing the regulation. Ultimately, this application enables engine manufacturers, ship-owners and Administrations to ensure in real time that all applicable marine diesel engines are in compliance with the limiting values determined by IMO MARPOL Annex VI. This paper offers the solution of the lack of technology mentioned above. Important parameters for compliance are measured by sensors that give electrical signal output of various types. After that, the data value from the sensors is collected by the microcontroller (data acquisition system). The microcontroller processes the data calculation and output the value useful for end-user such as SOx, NOx and CO2 emission. This end-user data is stored in the local memory of the microcontroller. Thereafter, the end-user data is transmitted through the Xbee to the receiver Xbee on the main microcontroller. This end-user data obtained by the main microcontroller is then stored and used

مطالعه آزمایشگاهی تأثیر استفاده از روش FGR بر دمای ماکزیمم شعله و انتشار NOx در احتراق گازوئیل و بیودیزل

The object of this study is to investigate experimentally the effects of Flue Gas Recirculation technique on exhaust gases temperature and also the NOx levels of gasoil and biodiesel (made of sunflower oil) combustion. The tests were carried out for different levels of FGR ranged from 0 to 30% and for three inlet air flow rates i.e.: 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 m3.min-1. Experimental results indicate that...

Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis of Co-Firing of Palm Kernel Shell and Coal

The increasing global demand for palm oil and its products has led to a significant growth in palm plantations and palm oil production. Unfortunately, these bring serious environmental problems, largely because of the large amounts of waste material produced, including palm kernel shell (PKS). In this study, we used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to investigate the PKS co-firing of a 300 MW...

Investigation of the Effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) on pollutants Emission From Si Engine Exhaust Gasese (RESEARCH NOTES)

This paper reports the results of an experimental investigation on the effect of the EGR on the pollutants emission, especially on oxides of nitrogen, from the exhaust gases and performance of the spark ignition engine. Also along with experimental work, a mathematical model for the determination of the effect of EGR on the peak cycle temperature and for the prediction of its effect on the NOx ...

Hydrogen and Ethanol as Potential Alternative Fuels Compared to Gasoline under Improved Exhaust Gas Recirculation

In the present study, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method have been utilized to investigate the effects of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and initial charge pressure by means of using a supercharger on the emissions and performance of a SI engine. This engine is fueled separately by gasoline and two potential alternative fuels, hydrogen and ethanol. The results of simulation are compar...
